Something a little different

Celestial summer continues, but the academic year has begun here in Oklahoma, meaning our summer summer (despite 100-plus degree days) has ended. I could write about the cruise Zachary and I took in May or how Mike and I traveled to Italy to celebrate our 30-year anniversary in August or explain the efforts I’ve nearly given up on to keep the gardens alive.

I’ve tried writing something coherent for the last two hours but feel my vocabulary, like the roots of many plants in the nutrient-poor red clays of my yard,  has dried and shriveled in the depths and mysterious folds of my brain. I’d like to share something else instead.

A while ago, Zachary gifted me a little vase from Clay Hive. I love it. I’ve filled it with flowers, dried branches, and herbs from my yard fifty-and-still-counting times. I set it on our dining room table, a spot all of us pass multiple times a day. Here, I present to you a brief photo montage of my favorite little vase filled with garden goodness. Enjoy!
